NAHA, Japan, Jan. 19, Kyodo
Three Chinese maritime surveillance ships entered Japanese territorial waters Saturday morning near the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, the Japan Coast Guard said.
Chinese vessels, which have been moving in and out of Japanese waters since last year around the islets claimed by Beijing, were last seen sailing in the territorial waters on Jan. 8.
A Japanese coast guard vessel has been directing the Chinese ships to leave the waters since their entry around 9 a.m., said the 11th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture.
